2026 Bangkok "Asia-Pacific Certified Green Compliance Officer (CGCO) Training & Examination"

I. Event Overview

Time: August 25 – 27, 2026 (3-Day Intensive Training + 1-Day Examination)

Venue: Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Thailand

Organizer: Asia-Pacific Industrial Manufacturing Association (APIMA)

Certification Awarded: Participants passing the assessment will be awarded the APIMA "Certified Green Compliance Officer (CGCO)" Certificate and included in the Asia-Pacific Green Talent Pool.

II. Event Background

With the trial launch of the ASEAN Carbon Market (ACM) in 2026 and the full implementation of the Practical Handbook for Carbon Footprint Accounting of Asia-Pacific Manufacturing (2026 Edition), the compliance focus of manufacturing enterprises has shifted from "awareness campaigns" to "data execution." Enterprises face three urgent challenges:

Regulatory Complexity: Divergent carbon tax regimes (Thailand, Singapore), CBAM-like policies, and varying ESG disclosure standards across economies.

Talent Gap: A lack of interdisciplinary compliance officers proficient in both production processes and carbon accounting.

Data Black Hole: Inability to accurately collect and verify supply chain carbon data in accordance with the Handbook.

To address this, APIMA is launching the inaugural CGCO Certification Training in Bangkok, aimed at cultivating "Chief Green Compliance Officers" capable of operating independently.

III. Core Curriculum

Day 1: Regulatory & Policy Frameworks (Understanding the Rules)

Regional Policy Decoding: In-depth analysis of the latest carbon tax and trading regulations for 2026 in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

International Standards Alignment: Practical differences in applying ISO 14067:2018 and the GHG Protocol within Asia-Pacific supply chains.

CBAM Response Strategies: Developing enterprise-level compliance pathways to address carbon barriers for exports to the EU and within ASEAN.

Data Collection Drill: Establishing a primary data collection system (smart meters, ERP, MES data integration).

Emission Factor Selection: Analyzing applicable scenarios for regional grid factors (EGrid), default values, and measured data.

Workshop: Group exercise to complete a simulated lifecycle carbon footprint calculation for a typical electromechanical product.

Day 3: Compliance Management & Reporting (Operationalizing Solutions)

Supply Chain Carbon Management: Tracing carbon emission data upstream to suppliers and providing compliance declarations downstream to clients.

ESG Reporting: Translating carbon data into ESG language recognizable by boards of directors and investors.

Third-Party Verification Preparedness: Simulating on-site audits and learning how to prepare evidence chains (traceability) to meet scrutiny by SGS, TÜV, and other institutions.
